that's one hell of an anti smoking message

Quote
An Indonesian man has been given compensation after a cigarette he was smoking exploded, taking out six teeth.

Andi Susanto, 31, told Indonesian media the cigarette had blown up in his mouth while he was riding a motorcycle.

8.4 Million New Yorkers suddenly realize New York City a horrible place to live.

Ok. It's the Onion. But it made me laugh. Toronto isn't that bad yet. But it sometimes approaches.

I love this story, I just don't want Wente or Kaye to find it, ew, more low birth rate articles fer sure. I'll get right on that!

Woman marries herself  :))

ETA - I forgot, some may remember reading I found a freshly dead Tarantula in the park recently, guess what I found on the railway tracks today? A blow-up lady doll wearing a purple sequined dress, and a gorgeous (one leg only) black stocking with white satin ribbon.

I grabbed her and threw her over my shoulder to bring her home to a nabe I know who will love her to bits. On the way home tho, 2 nabes hanging from upstairs windows painting, one loudmouth hick on porch (you know the kind, the kind that may have sex with farm animals) and a new nabe putting out lights for hallooweenie, all stared at me until woman who just got a half million in a settlement and is sprucing up her home (she's a brain injury stand-up comic) shouted WTH have you got now Toe? And who is getting it?

Great guffaws and I didn't even stub my toe while looking UP at her.

Sorry Toe, I don't seem to be able to click onto the story you've referenced.

Oh sorry Lagatta, I didn't give links, I just thought the 2 stories that are out there, completely ridiculous. The Vatican requesting Israel to play fair with P, the DLama saying don't worry/be happy. It's like watching Merkin political ads that say DEBT - $14 Trillion or something and then blah blah....just stupendously stupid, almost surreal or I'm  living in an alternate reality. Or as if the headlines simply don't matter anymore, no point reading them, they will all be obliterated by something REALLY BIG soon, no  real sense of urgency re: democracy, just other factions who have taken over, go thru the drive-thru and have a food-fight, no one will notice, the Haters get more ink than the lovers, there is no quality only quantity, there is no freedom only democracy, there is no democracy and no freedom, the rabbit hole, should I dive into it? and lastly, the public is too stupid to know how to thrive,  but no because stupid is so amazingly profitable, where is the outrage, it doesn't matter because what happens after the outrage, revolution? It seems the only real alternative and who gives a shit about that either since everyone is full of fear,  You know what I mean?

Oh yes, I understand (et je kiffe) just hadn't happened to hear or read about either of those stories. I've been following the lovely French unrest. Will try to get to the Palestine/Israel BDS conference tomorrow, but have been too busy with other (local) stuff - the conversion of a former monastery and school where many community groups are headquartered and people can secure clean, temporary housing while visiting for conferences there to LUXURY CONDOS. Fuckity fuck.

Police say a York University researcher who was among 57 men charged in   connection with an international child pornography network has committed   suicide.

They deserve nothing less than being called strange, weird and WTF? No loss as far as I'm concerned.  Why are NA menz so addicted to child pornography? Ever wonder about that?

Is it more prevalent among NA men?

It creeps me out to think that someone you may work with or meet with socially could be into child porn.
