Blogrolls and blog habits

Anyone in the habit of checking out the blogosphere systematically most days?

I am so disorganized that I seldom do anything systematically, but at some point most days I do run down the blogroll at one or another favourite site and make at least quick visits to other sites I know to be acute on topics that interest me.  

Some blogs can be counted on for landing on top of the hot news stories fastest (although I can't be counted on for getting to them in scoop-time); others one visits more for thoughtful background and analysis.

Anyway: who's got the habit, and what sort of little list are you building for your own reference?

Daily I check out Peace, order and good government, eh?, a womb of her own, and she knits too I envy her abilities, Miss Vicky's Offhand Remarks.

Thoughtful, interesting and knowledge building all.

Still in my quest to suck up knowledge I'm always looking for more.

i check out pogge, canadian cynic, thismoderworld, ted rall, ... i frequently check out Baghdad Burning, Juan Cole's Informed Comment, ... oh yeah, and the people who cross post to thismodernworld, they're quite good: Billmon's Whiskey Bar, Bob Harris, Greg Saunders's Talent Show, Jeanne d'Arc's Body and Soul, and Jonathan Schwarz's A Tiny Revolution.

I used to check out Stephen Gordon's blog Worthwhile Canadian Initiative more, but I forgot about it until recently.

I was at American Egalitaire's frontrowseat recently too.

sgm's No BMD, eh? would be a good addition to your (and my) kind of list too, thwap.

I checked it out.  I'll browse it later.  The sun is starting to shine on my computer screen.  Time to do other things!  He's focused on weapons proliferation is he?  Inneresting.

Well, yes, except for that reason, sgm will also lock on to other subjects -- Haiti, for instance, or Michael Ignatieff -- and really go digging deep.

He has written magnificent summaries on those two for babble, eg.

Not as much as I should. I'm inundated with info from various lefty lists, in several languages.  Should look at vicky and the Coyote Howls more often.

I do look at these City Daily Photo blogs whenever I feel the need to dream: http://parisdailyphoto.blogspot.com/  I'm posting Paris just because it is the first one and it is very well done, and offbeat. Alas the new Montréal one is not so good, at least not yet. Hope the photographer gets up to speed. There are small towns, huge cities and everything in between from the world over, and the list is growing.
