I'd LOVE to see MPs Megan Leslie and Claude Gravelle punching through the ReformaTory climate denial bullshit - I hope it is feasable to send them down to the conference in South Africa.

They are travelling down to Washington now:

Megan Leslie has been in Washington for two days now, and gave CBC's P&P an interview last night to respond to Joe Olver's attack on her. She said there's virtually no Canadian opposition to the pipelines there - just an immense Canadian lobbying effort for Keystone XL. She spoke to Nancy Pelosi's office and a few others.

I heard about this on the am radio news. They added that the opposition parties will pay their own way to South Africa.

So more emails stolen from climate scientists have been released before the Durban meeting, just like the bunch released before Copenhagen in 2009. They are probably from the same group of stolen ones used for "Climategate" since there are no recent emails.

On CBC today: 1) a town in Texas is having its water supply dry up. 2) Mexican farmers are suffering their worse drought in 70 years.

If I had loads of money, I'd be buying real estate in Detroit and Buffalo. Southerners will soon start migrating to the Great Lakes.

That's interesting. Detroit? Buffalo? Why do you think this?

Northwest Oyster Die-Offs Show Ocean Acidification Has Arrived   The acidification of the world's oceans from an excess of CO2 has already begun, as evidenced recently by the widespread mortality of oyster larvae in the Pacific Northwest. Scientists say this is just a harbinger of things to come if greenhouse-gas emissions continue to soar.

Fresh water. The South West US is drying up.

Texas in particular. I read last week of a town in mid-Texas that is very quickly running out of water and is desperate for solutions. You can imagine how much fresh water is used by refineries and by fracking. They're drying up - and it's their own damned fault. And they want our water, too.  :mad2
