Anyone up for a game?

I remind you all of the rules. Rule 6 deals with the transition from one Emperor/TPT to another, although it does not specifically deal with the case of abdication. It states that in the event an Emperor or TPT is unwilling or unable to continue in office, the Grand Vizier (if any) takes over after a 72 hour period.

I remind you also that I am currently Grand Vizier.

Therefore, in my role as senior remaining government official, I proclaim that the abdication of a Tribune is equivalent to a 72 hour waiting period, as described in Rule 6, part i. Pursuant to Rule 6, I hereby declare myself Acting Tribune.

In my new role as Acting Tribune, I have the following proclamations to make.

First, the name of "The People's Tribune" is to be changed back to "The Exalted Emperor". All instances of TPT are to be changed to TEE in the rules.

Second, the first part of Rule 1 is amended to read "The Game of Reaction shall always include at least two offices: The Exalted Emperor (TEE) and The Humble Scribe (THS). The office of TEE shall, at all times, be held by John_D or, failing that, his lawful issue in perpetuity."

Third, all references to an Executive Council are to be changed. A TEC may be appointed by TEE as a strictly advisory board, with only such powers as delegated by TEE and dismissible at any time by TEE. All decisions which are currently made by TEC shall now rest with TEE.

Long live the counter-revolution!

Indeed. And by a remarkable coincidence, it's the Eighteenth Brumaire, citizens. Beware, beware!

Comrades:

It is clear by now that the former running-dog imperial functionaries known as fyrnova and john_d, having had their world turned upside down, have lost grip on reality.

The People's Justice is swift and severe, but it is not without mercy.  I propose that they be turned over to the People's Medical Bureau for palliative care and experimen -- er, treatment.

As for the fugitive ... well, he blends in where ever he may find cover.  Check your local pubs, comrades, and take a close look at whoever's mixing.  The fiend's recruited stooges -- er, lookalikes.   :chainti:

Just so, Comrade-Barfly -- right on both counts, as it happens.

For such presumption, your Emperor would normally have you declared a Pretender. However, for reminding me of the loyalty and political skill of my good friend fyrnova, I shall (just this once) waive said penalty.

Fern Hill is hereby appointed Grand Vizier, as well as Minister of Internal Security. She is charged with uncovering all those who would undermine our glorious empire, and devising appropriate strategies to deal with the enemies in our midst.

Long Live the Empire! Long Live the Counter-Revolution!

Revered Exaltissimus, while I am humbled and gratified by your trust in me, I propose that Rule 6 be amended to read 'the Grand Vizier (if fyrnova hillovitch) takes over after a 24-hour period'. These are parlous times, as Your Grandiosity well knows. There are Known Smarty-Pantses hereabouts. Your humble servant fears that if left unsupervised for as long as 72 hours, these peons will become even more revolting.

Oh, and where are my janissaries?
