UHOH, that NDP chant might be an inadvertent endorsement of the CAPSLOCK PARTY, who are only a hairsbreadth away from the CONSERVATIVE PARTY.  And we all know where that leads.

Hmm, strangely ineffectual.  It is hard to effectively hack with lower case.  Dang CAPSLOCKERS have moved the agenda on us.

You mean in the "be careful of what you wish for" sense?  New toys are fun, even the green ones, but one would hope that at least the batteries would be the  :bunny brand so playtime wouldn't be over before it even seemed to begin.

I was wondering if the Rhino party would be interested in sponsoring an Endangered Species party....I'd like to nominate the Vancouver Island Marmot...they're so quiet and self effacing they'd never nominate themselves and yet they have some really great ideas about co-operative living and communal-type daycare...and they don't ask for much, it's not as if they'd be muzzle in the trough swilling at great rate like some of the others....

For the rest of you......BLACKBERRIES ARE RIPE!!!!!!!!!  PIE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never had a blackberry pie. It's cake all this week. Damned August birthdays. One after the other. skdadl, don't forget your sister's.

You guys, we gotta visit Anne and her granddaughters one of these days. The family and Tahsis all just sound so beautiful.

I made the Easy Summer Berry Pie from the Cook's Illustrated Summer Grilling & Entertaining magazine on the weekend.  I bought the 3 for $10 Perron Black thornless blackberry plants from the Dominion seedhouse mailorder catalogue a few years ago.  The box sat at the post office for a couple of weeks, & the first couple of years were bleak, but now there is at least 30 feet worth of blackberries, despite drastic pruning. The berries are huge. I love the  blackberries from Vancouver Island, we would stop and gather at the side of the road.
