I found her twitter page (which was pretty much only devoted to Assange & co, and I suspect we had battles royal about that, as while of course I agreed with the importance of Wikileaks, I've seen too much shit leftist men have done to women comrades to absolve him of possible wrongdoing when in Sweden)

but never her Facebook page. I've always refused to be on either of those, as I didn't have to be for professional reasons (only LinkedIn) and was very suspicious if not to say paranoid about how revelatory they were of one's private life.

I'll have to write something on the memorial page, but of course I have no kind thoughts towards Peter Kent or any other partner in ecocide. And it would harm innocent grieving people if I said something sophomoric like my thoughts are with you except the eco-criminal sibling. I'll have to find a formulation that is elegant without any "fellow feeling" for an educated piece of shit who signs in to planetary destruction.

Indeed, we all respected her privacy, which is a good thing, but I'm so very sad about how she ended up so reclusive when she was ill.

I'm sure it won't make you feel any differently toward him  but I was reading today about Peter's bout with cancer also. I don't know if I missed this at the time or if I just forgot about it:

I most certainly don't wish cancer, or painful death, on him, or Rob Ford. Illness and death aren't punishments; we all die, and I know some very health-centred people who have experienced horrible diseases

I just don't have any "human fellow-feeling" for someone who has collaborated in ecocide.

As another CBC poster has said:

He seems to ignore the carcinogens unleashed on the unsuspecting public with his slashing of environmental protection.  There is no vaccine for that.

I can't stop thinking about that specifically and oh the loss of Rob for her. It is that I am so discombobulated about mostly. We are all thinking about our own mortality here, yet we wonder how Rob's death could be so 'sudden' when he had the acumen to disable pogge.ca, so he knew what he was faced with. So young, it doesn't make sense to me. We don't know details, we never will, so we find acceptance somehow. It is all we can do.

And even tho pogge would never approve of this, I give you for Friday night: This Mortal Coil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFWKJ2FUiAQ#t=142

I find it yet sadder that the blog is down.  There's a lot of fine writing there, and not just from pogge and skdadl.  But if that was his/their last wish...

I wrote a tribute to both of them in the comments section of a blog of a mutual friend who is a bridge to parts of the US blogosphere, just in case anyone there recognizes them.

That's a very nice tribute, Mandos.

Someone at Ian Welsh's site mentioned that the news should be shared with the regulars at Firedoglake/FDL. I believe skdadl was a regular over there for awhile.

It's been years since I stopped there (circa 2002/3). It really has grown.

BUMP

Toe pointed this out almost a month ago as an excellent way to pay honour to our dear departed friends. Alison has now posted another appeal:
