But I just dislike rending the fabric of the text.

(Stealing eph's signature line for a moment) And on that note, I'm back from self-banning. Left the posts. The self-banning is actually quite a touching little ceremony. I recommend it.

Isn't it though?  I quite enjoyed m'self.

ETA: Mwahaha!  Who needs 'em?

Oooh, I just made a pun.   :D

I just reread this thread. It should be bumped periodically for newbies. It really demonstrates what BnR is about. I'm still sad, but glad that I banned myself. There are now too many hoops to hop through before I get unruly. And that may be important in the next few days.  :popcorn

I'm uncomfortable with this interpretation. This thread may explain how BnR came about, but I would hope that BnR is about what it members bring to it. I honestly don't see any purpose that is served by making anything more than passing references (issues being discussed, a link found, etc) to what's happening on the other boards.

I will likely archive this thread just as the babble ones on EM were.

No time like the present wonder if it will work with our current difficulties?

Posted for Fern Hill who was busy posting as I was busy closing.

When I arrived at BnR, skdadl welcomed me with something like 'it's so nice and airy here'. Airy. Not uptight, not prissy. We can say what we want and not have somebody jump on us. People came here, found this thread, vented on it, and mostly moved on. And, as Stephen says, brought other stuff with them too, which they got on with.

But this is and was important. It makes it airy here. Non-judgemental. Safe. I think it does demonstrate what BnR is about.
