In Ohio - No more benefits to common-law or same-sex couples  I have no doubt even married couples will be next, give it some time

Wisconsin - legislation passed without the Democrats

*change name of thread* to just union busting, this is going to spread.

I know, I'm engaging in gossip, but I am taking a break from washing the floors *ugh*
and I couldn't help giggling like a schoolgoil over wife of anti-labour repug tells protesters he's living out of state with his mistress

His wife is going to sign the Recall Petition, the maid already has  :bounce :mooning
*sorry, not out of state, but in dif city*

A judge has temporarily blocked the new anti-union law in Wisconsin:

So historian and university professor William Cronon wrote an op-ed in the NYT about the behaviour of Walker and the difference in current and past behaviour by Republicans; and the Republican Party of Wisconsin demanded copies of all his emails on various topics.  He writes a very long thoughtful post about what he thinks about it all and why he thinks they want his emails, etc., here:

This Texan blogger about climate notes the similarity with so-called "climategate" where emails were stolen from CRU and misused:

Recall ad in Wisconsin:

I certainly support the recall efforts in Wisconsin, the people there were hoodwinked by hidden agenda leading to doctrinaire legislations.

Yet I would be much happier if the effort was organized and coordinated by a union. Yes, I know they are dealing with 'state stuff' and really in the US, there is only one alternative to the Republicans, but to have the party of Obama in charge just gives me a wee shiver in my lower body parts.

Oh Lord, they need a third alternative - the last and existing paradigm of Reps vs Dems is doing them no good, no good at all.  :annoyed

In Montreal, Windsor, Hamilton, Scarborough and Kitchener, letter carriers reporting for duty were instructed to return all their undelivered mail to their originating office after eight hours of work. Prior to the labour dispute, letter carriers would have been able to deliver mail to all the addresses on their route.

Looks like a bid to kill overtime. There will be no lallygagging on the route!

A piece of mail I sent out July 26 was returned to me just today, for insufficient .7 cents because of 'size' of envelope. I hand-delivered it today, but it has set me back a full month now.

I am not attending the Labour Day parade/picnics this year as I strongly feel parades should be avoided and protests to replace them. Apparently that's just not on (yet). Maybe next year eh. Fools.

These vids are in response to Walker. O Come Recall Walker, Solidarity Sing Song, "Holly Jolly Recall" - and there's asongbook O come, all you peaceful,
Sane and irate people...

Walker has limited protests to 4 people, before the anniv. of the labor uprisings. And he has hired Turd Blossom's
protégé to sell the new restrictions.Solidarity Singers, a group (of 4) who gather every day at noon to sing popular songs altered with political lyrics criticizing the Walker administration.
