Sona's locked his twitter account. To get in you have to send him a request to do so. Seems the CONS like to snoop on the entire Canadian population, but don't like us to see their own social media networks.  :))

I originally got to it through a search that took me to Mitt Romney's Twitter account.  This was after Sona's account was locked.  But I'm not seeing it in Romney's feed any more.  Dammit.  Screenshot.

Canada's Watergate: opposition

Winnipeg New Democrat MP Pat Martin predicted the magnitude of the scam "will be enough to make Richard Nixon blush."  :))

Actually, that was part of Martin's statement the other day.  Watched it on YouTube. Here it is.  There's a transcript kicking around somewhere...Aaron Wherry's blog, maybe?

Okey dokey then, before I toddle off, half of Canadians don't want C-30 to be passed.

Tho I found this strange - Alberta, traditionally a Conservative stronghold, is not on the government’s side on this issue. Albertans are more likely to wish for the defeat of Bill C-30 than Ontarians, British Columbians and Quebecers.

So if it is passed? by hook and crook, what then?

That doesn't surprise me so much.  Personal privacy and personal property -- that weird individualism that's part of Albertan and Prairie culture -- is huge.  They don't want anyone, least of all government, looking in on them.  And most especially not on their internets where they regularly go to download their p0rn and other misogynist shite.

I dunno.  I don't think they'll be able to pass it as is.  Part of me thinks this was someone's last-minute attempt to see how far they could go.  Ya, a trial balloon, but one only a handful knew about.  What kind of antics are going on?

Gerry Caplan (on P&P this week)  said it's highly unlikely any changes will be made to any election results as a result of this. But if any of this is proven and charges laid, it will make the Conservatives look very, very bad. Despite the unlikely scenario of election results being overturned and new byelections mandated, I think the population will demand some form of punitive measures against the Conservatives - I don't have any idea what those could be other than very stiff fines (think millions of dollars) and the loss of their credibility. It'll be great to see someone go to jail - the more the merrier. It'll be kind of ironic that the first to enjoy Harper's new mega-prisions would be Conservatives themselves.

RoboCon
Of the 14 ridings the Cons won by the slimmest margins of victory - 14 ridings being the number that gave Steve his majority -  Con election fraud has been alleged in four of them so far :
Etobicoke Centre, Elmwood-Transcona, Mississauga East, and Winnipeg South Centre.
They took Etobicoke Centre , for instance, by just 26 votes.
Update : Dawg just advised me if I up my list to 15 ridings, it will include Willowdale and the alleged shenanigans there as well.
B : :))

Holy Crap, my *new* riding was won by a Con by 26 votes!!! And there is a court case coming up that some Cons shut down a polling station. Well from what I just read at the Star, looks like Eglinton Centre really really need edjumacating around how to fill out a ballot. Fucking hearts? So stupid.

I just re-read the Natty Post article and I did not realize a throw-away cell phone was used. THAT looks suspicious.

Elections Canada came to Racknine after an elaborate digital chase that began with a single telephone number that showed up on call displays. Investigators traced it to a disposable “burner” cellphone registered in area code 450, in the city of Joliette, northeast of Montreal.
