Sorry about that Berlynn, I thought the same thing and have now gone looking. But instead I found Bill C-10 passed March 12th (and I didn't even get to mourn) and Bill C-30 is stand alone, waiting for amendments.

Not your fault, Toe.  It's the idjit who thought a text video would get more looks than a text page anywhere online.  Dumbass kid, is all I can think of.

So is Harper still listening to his criminal advisor and perhaps speaking through him, or did the man just decide to earn a living by joining the punditry, of whom we have too many already?  :mad2

And as Sixth Estate pointed out a while ago, we have not yet heard the results of all those investigations into Carson.

These asshats are making the Nixon regime look honourable in comparison. They only set out to f*ck with the Democratic Party.

Our fekkin idiots - misleading parliament on the F-35's.

The Auditor-General’s report will be tabled in the House of Commons Tuesday morning and is likely to prove incendiary for the government.

McMahers' latest:

Quote
A historical charity that receives millions of dollars from the federal government each year has been paying the Conservative Party’s main call centre company for fundraising work...

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Charity+funded+government+links+Tory+call+centre/6399771/story.html

Not sure if there is anything illegal here, but after their attacks on ENGOs, every Conservative donation to charity needs to be examined closely. (And I benefit from government grants to some organizations; I think they are legit but arguable. I guess)

Rights & Democracy will be disbanded, announcement today. Meantime I'm watching the spooks attempt to hunt down the anonymous you tubes against Vic. Kady is liveblogging.

It's too funny, parliamentarians want CSE to protect them from meanacing anon youtubes, but CSE Agent says with straight face, not in our mandate, don't even know who they are; this should be over soon. Ha!

These bastards want me to work until I'm 67 (I'll basically have to work until I drop, in any event) and then not only cut the funding of but DISBAND several of the things I work for. Ça va pas, non?

By the way, staffers at Rights and Democracy here were among those most instrumental in our (collectively) winning a landmark case in establishing the right to refugee status on the basis of sexism and sexist persecution, involving a young Saudi woman who had sought refuge here. And now those rightwing bastards blather on about defending the rights of women in Muslim countries ... by bombing the hell out of them, though obviously not Saudi.

Paul Wells blogged about it:

Quote
...Canada still has no organized democracy-promotion effort, despite a 2008 campaign promise and throne speech commitment. It has lately preferred more robust techniques for promoting democracy, such as jet fighters. Oops. I can’t help thinking that if the government of  Stephen Harper had paid less attention to a $50,000 grant, and more to a $25 billion procurement contract, it would stand less shamed and disgraced than it does today.

And in slightly better news, a shadow MP has left his job:

Bob Rae just called on Harper to resign over the F35 fiasco - on CBC's "Power and Politics".

There is no end to how destructive Harper is. Again, more gutting of environmental protections. This is from an old school petition format but I thought I'd share:

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED citizens of Canada, draw the attention of the House of Commons to the following:

• Whereas  habitat refers to the water or land necessary for the survival of all species, including
fish, and
• Whereas habitat destruction is the most common reason for species decline and extinction, and
• Whereas the weakening of habitat protections in section 35 of the Fisheries Act will negatively
impact Canada’s water quality and fisheries, and
• Whereas changing the wording of the Fisheries Act or other laws affecting the health of
Canada’s ecosystems must be based on the best science available, and
• Whereas it is critical that any changes to the Fisheries Act do not jeopardize the ecosystems on
which we and future generations depend simply to provide short-term profit for a few;

THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon the House of Commons to keep section 35(1) of the Fisheries Act
as it is currently written with its emphasis on habitat protection.
