I'm wondering what les indignés de Montréal will do with their Canadian Army Arctic tents. Those were quite costly; not that any of the people who gave $$$ to support the occupation would begrudge the purchase. It is a pity they served for such a short time.

Yep, I can't abide Naomi Wolf, but it is a good thing if taking part in this movement actually forwarded some element of progressive thought among the retrograde mess in her recent writings (not that she was ever very progressive to begin with). I believe she was developing a weird kinship with women's role in Orthodox Judaism, though it is possible I misremember that. The crap about abortion is bad enough.

You've got all the Senators, all the MPs, the Governor-General, you've got the Prime Minister, the Chief of Defence staff, the Superintendent of the RCMP, all the Justices of the Supreme Court, you've got the whole gallery, you've got the whole country's media in this incredibly decorous room and she goes and walks in the middle of that, very stoically, and puts her sign up, turns around and shows her sign to the other gallery and then is escorted away. No screaming, no yelling, (just) enormous dignity.”[/l][/l]

Occupy Wall Street now has an A-list soundtrack: the compilation Occupy This Album, which was announced today and will be released sometime this spring. The record will feature music from Debbie Harry, Jackson Browne, Yoko Ono, Third Eye Blind, Crosby and Nash and many more. Several of the contributors, including Joan Baez and Crosby and Nash, performed at the New York OWS site while it was still active.
