Will March spring forth?
« on: March 01, 2013, 02:39:07 PM »
Thinking of the heady spring last year, that started in February. Massive demonstrations before it was actually spring, and the weather cooperated. Summer temps for the 20th of March demo for "families and friends", all-ages.

Weather hasn't been as kind this year, but it was dry and mild for the large demonstration this past Tuesday, at the phony "Education Summit" here in Montréal.

Hoping Idle no More and other forces will make spring spring forth anew, as the ghost of Stéphane Hessel, who inspired the indignant, outraged and occupiers, passes in the late-winter sky.

Tonight, a party for the 35th anniversary of L'Association des locataires de Villeray.

Very windy here this weekend, and some rain. And it's well above freezing! Maybe the snow will go away next week.  :applause

Mild and sunny here in the 'Peg. Such a welcome change.

Helping a resident get his groceries out of his trunk and onto his wagon, when I backed out with a box the heel of my boot caught on some ice and I fell onto the ice covered concrete. I got his stuff in, but now, oh man my right buttocks is sore and that makes me feel so very tired. Gonna need an Epsom bath.

7C and a bit of rain today. The snow is going fast. In 2010, winter was finished by mid-February. I think our current winter will be finished tomorrow. Is this the new normal?

Gorgeous day and up to 11 d tomorrow, can't wait. Hibiscus in bloom and indoor geranium has put out a great burst of clustered buds. Best part is the ducks have chosen their mates, geese coming home. It's going to be an interesting spring.

The temps here will be around the 3 degree mark every day for the entire month, and evening temps will dip between -1 and -7 for the entire month, according to our long term forecast. Also, this week, just a tiny bit of snow and/or rain.

Not quite spring, but not quite winter, either. Weird.

Yesterday, in our back yard, the tiger lilies and the chives had made an appearance and today -- crocuses! We have a lovely purple crop that just popped up today.

Nice.  8)   I heard my first redwing blackbird yesterday and again this morning before I left. Such a thrill.

Tomorrow, they are announcing up to 25 cm of snow here.

Back to prison. Horribly dark thoughts.

Wind chill here is -28C, will warm up a little later today, but back to -28C tonight. Got the furnace on. We're expecting a bit of either snow or rain by the weekend, but not much.

Nice to see the sun out again after a few days of really lousy weather. I'm going for a long walk.
