That doesn't even make any economic sense. That is taking the money away from local shops and making boarded up high streets more likely. And what of those living in small communities without those big shops are they meant to travel by bus they can't afford to the mega shop to get the provisions??

Can we start saying fascism now?

Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.

It's like these governments are domestic abusers of the poor and hope that battered spouse syndrome will set in and permanently shut them up from ever demanding anything, including basic dignity and human rights.

Pretty sure that it has already set in. That is why some poor people vote for conservative governments and sit around bashing other poor people. They know they aren't like that but since these elected officials keep saying it it must be true.

Work, Employment, Money / They Plan To Raid Our Bank Accounts

The Global Elite Are Very Clearly Telling Us That They Plan To Raid Our Bank Accounts

Quote
Don't be surprised when the global elite confiscate money from your bank account one day.  They are already very clearly telling you that they are going to do it.  Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem is the president of the Eurogroup - an organization of eurozone finance ministers that was instrumental in putting together the Cyprus "deal" - and he has said publicly that what has just happened in Cyprus will serve as a blueprint for future bank bailouts.  What that means is that when the chips are down, they are going to come after YOUR money.

So why should anyone put a large amount of money in the bank at this point?  Perhaps you can make one or two percent on your money if you shop around for a really good deal, but there is also a chance that 40 percent (or more) of your money will be confiscated if the bank fails.  And considering the fact that there are vast numbers of banks all over the United States and Europe that are teetering on the verge of insolvency, why would anyone want to take such a risk?  What the global elite have done is that they have messed around with the fundamental trust that people have in the banking system.  In order for any financial system to work, people must have faith in the safety and security of that financial system.  People put their money in the bank because they think that it will be safe there.  If you take away that feeling of safety, you jeopardize the entire system.

Canada / Canada quietly pulls out of UN anti-droughts convention
« on: March 28, 2013, 07:29:09 AM »

The Harper government is pulling out of a United Nations convention that fights droughts in Africa and elsewhere, which would make Canada the only country in the world outside the agreement.
The federal cabinet last week ordered the unannounced withdrawal on the recommendation of Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, ahead of a major scientific meeting on the convention next month in Germany.
The abrupt move caught the UN secretariat that administers the convention off guard, which was informed through a telephone call from The Canadian Press.
The cabinet order "authorizes the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take the actions necessary to withdraw, on behalf of Canada, from the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, in those Countries Experiencing Severe Drought and/or Desertification, particularly in Africa."

By the end of today, the inhabitants of the Westboro Baptist Church compound in Topeka, Kansas, should have a new view out their windows, just past their FAG MARRIAGE DOOMS NATIONS sign: a new gay-rights center across the street, painted in brilliant rainbow colors, with a pride flag flying from a 30-foot flagpole.

So I deleted my Facebook account. There are people I seem to only see there but I can't continue to be part of an organization that is so blatantly misogynist.

A burial ground was known to be in an area outside the City of London, but its exact location remained a mystery.
Thirteen bodies have been found so far in the 5.5m-wide shaft at the edge of Charterhouse Square, alongside pottery dated to the mid-14th Century.
Analysis will shed light on the plague and the Londoners of the day.
