Day 10 @ April Reign

Quote
It might be assumed that this battle has long since been fought. I would venture to say that assumption is false.

True the women of today may have the vote, but do they have the power? Certainly those of a “certain class” do as they always have, but do the vast majority of women? Do the women who have achieved some success within parties have any power? If they do why do all the current leadership races (liberal, Albertan conservative) consist of middle age white men?

Why is it that when discussions of a abortion arise it is the fetus whose rights are given greater credence as though a woman is merely an after thought in the process. Her rights, her dreams, her ambitions, her responsibilities uncounted, uncared for, unnoticed.

Went back to correct missing words and entire lines. Was near impossible to think with the din. Kids are hyped up something awful today.

Here it is at PB
http://www.progressivebloggers.ca/blog/ ... php?page=7

It's got 8 votes now, but is not on the front page. I really do not understand this stuff.

I posted it yesterday so it was off the front page within a couple of  hours.

I don't understand it either. I vote, but I'm not a member, so I never know if it counts.

Debra, that was just awesome!

Yes -- I had forgotten when it was posted.

The front-page status is a combination of number of votes and time posted. Nothing stays there indefinitely, no matter how many votes.

If you don't see something on the front page, click on the "Affiliates" link in the sidebar high up on the right; then check the time that the blogger blogged (that should be on the blogpost); then find the Affiliates page where posts were being made at that time and vote. Sometimes one extra vote will move a post back to the front page, but only if it was relatively recent.

Oh, yesterday. I was looking for it in the recent posts. (Although, I have checkmark, so I guess I voted last night. :) )

Toedancer, I'm pretty sure your votes still count. I don't always log in when I vote, and my votes seem to count whether I'm logged in or not.

Great as always, Debra. I want to comment more, but always feel I should have something to add, and I often don't.
