O'Connor didn't make me cry.  Niki did.  Her knowledge of the history of the struggle, her passion, her appreciation from her generation.  Well, I had a good cry! :crying

I didn't realize Senator Lucie Pepin had a petition out, much less ambiguous than the LPC one.

But it's not a petition.  Or doesn't appear to be one.  It's more like an email to the PM.  The fucking LPC is also doing a fundraiser on this issue...presumably for their Judy Lamarsh fund which supports women's LPC campaigns.  That really really pisses me off!  A whole lot of volunteer effort went into mounting this campaign and the LPC comes riding in at the last minute and tries to rake in dollars.  Fuck them, I say.  I'm not signing on to any fucking thing they do!

Oh, and here's the link if you want to donate.  How low can you go? :mad2

Canada’s doctors have sternly rejected what they see as a stealth attempt to recriminalize abortion.

The gloves are off now, they think they can do anything. Thank gawd my Harper Hates Me T-shirt arrives next week.

I have a Solution. Why not a counter Bill that criminalizes men for causing an unwanted pregnancy? Why not? A Bill written by women for women that would include our good menz of course. Cons would like it because it's all about 'personal responsiblity' and women need it because then the pregnancies/child would not solely be their problem anymore. Why not make men responsible for where they put their dicks, in fact, let's go further and demand DNA placed on drivers licenses (I don't even know how that shit works) so if a guy doesn't take resp. where he put his dick, it's automatically known and ch-ching off comes $200 a month or something.

An anti-abortion law targeting men is really the way to go. We can't reason with the kind of male dominance over women's bodies people like Woodsworth and his ilk simply must have. I mean the're sick minded no doubt, so who can reason with them. Has anyone ever tried something like that that your aware of? Srsly, who can write a Bill and counter attack these dickwads. And don't forget O'Connor stood up to say No to the Bill, but he did NOT answer the question of what constitutes personhood, which is what Woodworth's bill raises. This is about Autonomy and Liberty, so rather than get into the nitty gritty details of the backdoor personhood, a new Bill targeting men is the only solution I can think of. I should also say, this is not something I came up with by myself, I've read something similar to this in the past, but can't think where. A full page ad with a Citizens Bill would be terrific.
