I've created a new catagory "Elections" and there are two forums Provincial and Federal.

If you would like that broken down further let me know.

I thought it might be useful soon, to have a place to keep all election related threads together.

Yes, it will keep them straight - especially the always popular "Outremont by-elections"... (federal, this time - Mulcair trying to make a breakthrough for the NDP).

On that note, I have ONLY seen NDP and Bloc posters there, none for the Libs or the Cons.

I hear  (As It Happens) the two new Rhino parties are having a summit today to decide on their candidate.

That's what the CBC website says. But As It Happens had two "rival" leaders of the Rhinos on two consecutive evenings. I'm sure Satan will triumph. :panic

The first time I cast my vote in a federal election, it was for the Rhino Party

I knew a professor who ran for them once.  He did well, got a thousand votes or so.

ETA: CBC gives a good history of the Rhinos, and yes there is also a Neorhino Party.

I loved the Rhinos. I used to have a Rhino button. Sadly, it seems to be gone. I still have my Stop Spadina button though.

Me too! My NDP friends were most displeased.

Personally, I think Sa Tan is a nice name, but François Gourd is far better. And he has so much Rhino cred.

Well I would not waste a vote on the Rhino's.

I will be voting GREEN for any protest vote and helping to move thousands of votes from the ndp to the GREENS.

Under the new election rules we must put our vote money where it belongs.

Any person in Canada who believes the 82 year old drug war should be dealt with should vote Green.

Huh?

I sure as hell wouldn't vote Green - they have a very reactionary outlook in social and economic terms. And I'm an environmental activist from way back (see Claire Morrissette thread).
