We'll open this forum with the memorable quote from Magoo

Quote
Anyway, I'm suddenly all fucking "pro" any goddamned vulgarity I can fucking well lay my fucking hands on! Holy Shit! This whole swearing thing is so FUCKFUCKFUCKING awesome! Jesus Goddamn Christ on a Bike! I'm suddenly saltier than a mermaid's cunt! I could damn well make a motherfucking stevedore blush!

Who knew bad things could happen without it being the terrorists fault?

Good choice for the first entry, Debra.  It's all downhill (or uphill, depending on the POV) from that one.

Duelling posters: gunnar and deBeauxOs do some fancy footwork for some time on this thread. Who can excerpt poetry like that, but this was definitely a high pointe:

deBeauxOs to gunnar:
Quote
Oh really? Even your cheerleaders only gave you a 4.5 and that was because they liked the music you picked ... I don't think that I've seen any one since then do a plié followed by a grand jetté to the tune of Hava Nagilah as masterfully as you did.

Here's a link to kewl pic by Gigi of a hawk (redtailed?) feasting on a tasty pigeon.  Later in the thread Herr Magoo waxes nostalgic ...

Not just quotes, but there are a few BnR sayings that have already become, well, BnR sayings -- I was thinking last night, eg, of someone who wrote of "the wrath of Gigi and the [???] of eph." Does anyone remember how that goes? I like that one.

There is also Gigi's sig line, which I think we should lease from her as our slogan. No one had ever heard such a thing before, but once heard/read, never forgotten.

"The wrath of Gigi or the rage of eph."

Coined by -- well -- eph.

Finally I had to tell them, "look-when I *bought* an acre of rainforest I assumed you were going to try & preserve it. I didn't ask you to chop it down, turn it into paper & mail/fax it to me".

Herr Magoo, on the general consensus surrounding s-i-ls:

Quote
Good grief. My sister-in-law is, to borrow a phrase from my father, "goofy as a half-screwed barn owl". It seems to be an epidemic!

Surely once the media comes up with a catchy phrase for it, we can say it out loud? Won't that be empowering? Will our kids someday mock, "they used to keep their disdain for their sisters-in-law hidden in the closet, like some shameful little secret!"

deBeauxOs saves Citizen Black's soul by recasting him as Boom Boom:

Quote
Imagine the Lard's life story, along the lines of Citizen Kane. A gnarled, reclusive hermit, this bearded and shaggy Conrad is living in a remote St-Lawrence North shore community, hiding out from hit-men hired by the Hollinger share-holders. He pines for a yellow ducky, like the one he had when he played in the tub as a child, maneuvering his armada of English and French warboats in the water. He is older than dirt, and he longs for his rubber ducky. "Donald", he bleats heartwrenchingly, as a tear slowly trickles down his scraggly cheek, leading people who are not familiar with his childhood whimsy to speculate that he once enjoyed a youthful indiscretion with Trump.

Only Boom Boom can be Boom Boom, at least while I'm still alive.  :spy:  :panic
