The Met on screen
« on: February 16, 2008, 05:03:03 PM »
Why on earth was I avoiding this?

I just got back from Manon Lescaut and for $20(!) holy crap is that a steal.  Minor issues with the sound quality , but the presentation, complete with back stage interviews between acts, excellent.

Highly recommend.

(ETA: got a free ticket because of the sound trouble.)

Oh, gosh. Where did you see this, Gigi? Sounds great. I love Manon -- the novel's great, too, although it gets very twisty at the end.

At the Paramount (I refuse to use venue's current names as they seem to change weekly).

Info on the rest of the season (seeing Grimes next month).  They also do a re-broadcast (today was live).
