Oh, his spokesperson has fuzzy answers, but we all know what happened.

He isn't the first. Delia Smith also recently published a book on how to cook with corporate crap. Though as Jamie had been more of a crusader against crap food, it seems more blatant.

It is true that Italians eat far less sauce with their pasta than Brits or most North Americans do, but then the sauce should have included clear indications that it was to be used sparingly. You still see people who eat a bit of pasta and practically a side dish of sauce!  :shock:

:?  How very strange.  What can possibly be the advantage of producing over-salted pasta sauce?  Bars serve up salty snacks to encourage their patrons to drink more, but why are Oliver's recipes high in sodium - is it to help extend their shelf life?
