Recreating Eden, by Mary Soderstrom
« on: November 17, 2008, 11:38:26 AM »
A very interesting blog by a Montréal writer of fiction and essays on urban life and planning, such as her recent "The Walkable City: Haussmann's boulevards to Jane Jacobs' street".

 yes, I've read some of her posts.  She is also an ardent supporter of Anne Lagacé Dowson.

I just wrote a comment about Anne's campaign on Mary Soderstrom's blog this moment!

Hope Anne will be able to continue to inform and challenge us on CBC and Radio-Canada, and elsewhere. As Antonia has said, there is such pressure by media management on their staff and freelancers to be conformist little clones. Hard times.

Mary's blog is one of the ones I always vote for at PB early in the morning, even when I'm going too fast to read closely. We have few enough bloggers who are writing to cultural or broadly social or (for want of a more precise term) spiritual topics from a progressive pov, but the ones we have are very good.
