Man, we have messed up in Sudan.

Yes, Bashir is a tyrant, and yes, something had and has to be done about Darfur. But something-anything is usually not the right answer, and that's where we seem to be right now.

The ICC have issued an arrest warrant against President Bashir for war crimes, so now he is predictably closing the country down to Western NGOs. See Guardian report.

I don't know the answer to this, especially to the crisis in Darfur, but I certainly know that Sudan is another one of those cases where Western interests, and in this case some specifically Canadian ones, screwed the country up through business arrangements that helped to put jerks like Bashir in power and then helped him to keep it.
