Our warmest day so far this summer: 25C / 77F - about as high as I can stand.

In Halifax, we've had many many days of nothing but hot sunny weather. Of course, I love it and I'm sure the tourists do too. The Tall Ships are here and we've spent a lot of time down on the waterfront and there are thousands of people down there -- both visitors and locals.

The Premiers, territorial leaders and Aboriginal leaders are coming this week and I guess it would be nice for the weather to remain just as it is for a few more days.

But my goodness, we really need some rain.

Oh I do envy you Sharon with the Tall Ships event, would love to be there. Perhaps, like us, you will get a good soaking as we just had, short with some T and L'ing right at sunset, so the coolness stays for a bit. Enjoy!

It's not quite the same as being there but the CBC is live-streaming the Parade of Sail -- as the ships prepare to leave the harbour:

Epicurious did a lovely overview of Ramadam foods and customs in different parts of the Muslim world: http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/holidays/ramadan

Yes, funny to have a food publication covering a month of fasting, but I think this is positive from a US mainstream site. Several articles worth a read.

South Oshawa: A steady rain and a bit of thunder but nothing serious.

‎78F / 26C - our hottest day this year. I wasn't able to work outside today, but I'm going to try painting after supper.
