Gaza attack protest actions
« on: November 15, 2012, 02:12:53 PM »
There are demos called in Toronto and Vancouver.

Just heard of a rally here in Mtl outside the Israeli consulate, which our protests over the years have forced to locate from the centre of downtown to Westmount Square, a very, very posh shopping and office concourse. Right at a métro station though (Atwater) and not hard to get to for most students and downtown workers.

I have to run now, so I'll send this. The Toronto and Vancouver demos are already posted at babble. I haven't heard of a vigil or demo outside Parliament in Ottawa. Please update when you find news of ANY KIND of protest action, including petitions and letter-writing campaigns.

NDP MPs, time to speak out!

VENDREDI 16 novembre
DE 18H00 À 19H30
Devant  le Consulat israélien à Montréal

Petition from Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East:

Please tell your MP to call for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza Yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 14th), Israel launched at least 20 airstrikes on Gaza, injuring about 120 Palestinians, and killing 10, including a baby and a 7-year old.  This morning, a Hamas rocket killed three Israelis. Please click on the link below to tell our Canadian political leaders that the madness in Gaza has gone on far too long.  The human rights of Palestinians must be respected, and the status quo of asymmetrical violence can continue no longer.

Insist that Canadian political leaders call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the short-term, and push Israel to cease its occupation and colonization of Palestinian land in the long-term.  Please do this for the sake of Gaza and the Palestinian people.
