Canada 2, USA 1, with less than 2 minutes left in the second period.

Canadians making a lot of good shots on goal and seem to be in control of the play, early in the third.

I chekced into NBC coverage, and as usual, they are not showing this live.  :? Salon has made some snarkful comments about this. (Apparently the only way to get Americans to watch something at the Olympics is to promise a gold medal for the US, meaning that few things can be shown live.) With the hockey game, I can't believe how boneheaded that approach is.

I looked away and then returned to see it tied-up at 2-2.  Boo, local sports team! Boo!

brebis, I take it they left themselves exposed?

I don't have speakers on this machine so I don't know what happened while I wasn't looking.

no, the US scored with a man advantage. Now they're into overtime, with 4 on 4, for a regular period; if still tied after that, they do a shoot-out.

"welcome back to a stunned Canada," they sez.

Montreal Simon speculated at his blogsite that Stevie Spiteful would not present the gold medal to the US team if it won, fearing the bad optics would hinder his "popularity".

Well, phew!  I was going to ask why the Canadian team was wearing black pants, but after the third period, maybe it would'nt be tactful to ask. :hockey:  :whew:

Was Harper there at all? After he showed up on CTV yesterday every time they panned the camera, I didn't see him at all today (I didn't watch all of it).

Fantastico! I almost never watch hockey, and yet as soon as I do, it all comes back.

They sure look happy in Cole Harbour, NS, tonight, eh? What a nice young man.
