Jason Kenney was on CBC saying this has nothing to do with man-made climate change - the last flood of this size was in 1892 (bigger than the one in 2005) and no one in 1892 was talking about man-made climate change.  ::)

(the panel on CTV's QP today hinted that Jason Kenney will replace Peter what's his name as Minister of National Defence...  :o  )

Nenshi certainly seems to be an efficient and competent mayor. There were some media jokes here that he should be imported eastwards...

That's a lovely boy, Debra. I know. . .time flies. I'm dressing my baby in a tuxedo today for tonight's prom. Exciting times!

And yes, excellent news from the scan.

Great to hear some good news for a change, Deb!  :hug

We had a lovely warm spell (19C)  for a week, but it's over now. It's barely 12C / 53F  with a really cold wind and I have my heaters on inside. Rain in the forecast, but nothing like Alberta had.

I'm THRILLED to hear Debra's good news!

As for weather, yesterday it went up to 30°, and 39 with the humidex. I was wondering why I felt a bit dizzy. Actually had a bit of a nap, with a soft old cotton sheet over me; somehow I felt more comfy with that than without. Later there was an extremely strong wind and rainstorm. Remember that it was La Fête nationale here, so everything was closed.

Congrats on the grad and the great health news, Debra.

Last night's thunderstorm was the perfect relief for a hot, steamy day. The breeze is strong this morning but temps are already up to 21C.

Yes, I guess one storm has passed but another big one is coming; good luck.

Is the flooding mainly in Toronto, or in surrounding areas too?

Lights went out at 6, got the oil lamp ready, kindle book, radio batteries. 126 m fell, more than Hurricane Hazel for crying out loud. Listened to Coast to Coast, that was in fact scarier, LOL. Power out til midnight, went to bed sleepy and boom the fire alarm went off. Sat on balcony w/ Sera for an hour until alarm was turned off. The pictures/videos/stories are amazing.

This is a very wide swath, and I'm hoping it misses TO entirely, Hamilton watch out.
