Cause we're all in this together / Re: Come to our Farewell Party!

We had some fine conversations. I saved some threads last night but there just wasn't time to read them all again.

Thanks so much, Debra, for providing this home, and thanks, friends, for the good company.

Antonia tweets that she is retiring from the Star today, and will be tweeting (and hopefully writing a lot).

Also Alison has a new Perps with Perks (and other recent posts of course)

Inexpressibly sad to hear about both of them.  I always regretted skdadl's abrupt departure from here.
She was on twitter a lot for a while, then in 2011 left the internet completely, when she moved.

A few blog posts are up about skdadl and pogge; Cathie's post has a brief comment from 900ft - I think someone was asking about her a while ago:

Scott Tribe also posted a link to skdadl's obituary, which is long and lovingly written:

There is a link to a guest book, if anyone wants to leave a message.

Just came back from lunch to see the sad news about pogge, tweeted by Kevin Brennan @bakevin who also posted the flutracker link:

The twitter feeds for @skdadl and @pogge411 are still up, I guess they stay up indefinitely

So sad to hear this. I've missed her since she left the internet & wondered if she would ever return

Dr. Dawg tweeted about it with a link to the rabble thread where many people are mourning skdadl:

Thanks for the music, Debra.

On June 23 pogge tweeted:

" On hiatus. Publication suspended until further notice. Sorry 'bout that. #onpoli"

and he tweeted Creekside posts on June 25 & 26; no tweets since then

I reported his account for spam today; maybe it will get a quicker response to complain about the account than about one tweet?

is anyone responsible for Croghan's old accounts? his twiiter has been hacked

if you have time mark this as Person may not be in control of their account. I already did but more people would  probably be good.

Holly Stick :
I'm going to resist that suggestion - sadly, lying and porking out are insufficiently perpy.
Or I could just start a non-Perps series. :groucho

Tah for tweets!

re your commenting - Yes I had noticed a certain lack of homework assignments from you recently - you could always just go Anon and stick your name on end of text.
Ha ha. Here's your homework today; read CC's tweets for the Manning Networking Conference:

"Yes, Ottawa, there *is* such a thing as a free lunch." Panel discussion by members of the PMO. 12:00-1:00. #MNC14 :))

Alison, looks like you could add the whole PMO to Perps with Perks:

I still have to dig up my password before I can comment on your blog. But I tweet it a lot.

I saw this thread yesterday but stopped to mull it over before replying  :))

I moved last November, not by choice; my nice elderly landlords sold their small apartment building to a sharklike young couple who booted me out so they could renovate and raise the rent sky high.

The new place has good and bad points and it's taking a while to get adjusted to the differences, but I was lucky to find it in Calgary's crappy rental market.

I need to find a job and also feel rather depressed. I spend a lot of time on twitter, there is so much interesting stuff on there (following historians, librarians, reporters, etc)

Right now Canada's women curlers are in the process of winning the gold, so things are looking up! :applause

I just saw this today, and am very sad to lose Boom Boom. But I will remember his gentleness and humour, and now I get the joke of why he told us he had been a hitman.

Weather / Re: Late October - sudden chill
« on: October 26, 2013, 01:51:04 PM »
Today is the last good day here probably, they are predicting rain and snow tomorrow.

I've washed all my windows except one and I really should do it today before it gets cold, but I have an aching leg and don't feel much like working. I'm finding it hard to get motivated: I need to find a new place to live (new sharklike owners are kicking me out in order to renovate) and also to find some paying work.
