Am excited about their plans to use social media to enable more people to get involved, no matter where they live or how much is in their bank accounts.

I. Can't. STAND. Caruso. I won't watch CSI Miami because he's in it.

Commented!  And, as I mentioned on your site BCS, I was *just* thinking about this BnR thread, this afternoon ;)
Interesting how that works, isn't it?

Appreciate the commenting help.

ETA. This and other decisions-made-on-high by MDs always remind me of The God Complex. While that was a movie, it reflects a reality in the medical field.

Obstetrician Denies Woman Tubal Ligation - In Canada, you say? Oh yea!

Would appreciate comments from BnR folk. Cons appear to be using her age to justify the doctor saying No. She's 21. It's her body. Her decision. Period.

I consider cruelty to animals worse than cruelty to humans, or at least grown humans. When will "inhumane" come to mean something in our laws? (I realize that a US story but things are as bad here when it comes to animal cruelty.)

That song actually has an interesting -- and more recent -- history than you'd expect.

The original is German, "Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann," and was written to be performed by a German children's choir for a 1953 performance at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, an annual European music festival in Wales. The BBC broadcast the Obernkirchen Children's Choir's winning performance, and the song became an instant hit. (Today we would say that it went viral.)

There's a fuller history in the sidebar to the YouTube.

That timing is right for me.  Must have been 3 years old. Arrived in Canada six weeks before my 4th birthday.

Speaking of songs, just recalled one I used to sing when a little girl back in England. Phrases included "my knapsack on my back" and "when i go a-wondering." The chorus was something like "valer-eeee, valer-iiiii, valer-eeee, valer-i i i i i." Anyone recognize the song?

Home Ownership about Autonomy not Equity (for low-income renters anyway)

skdadl, would you mind trying to comment again, even just to say Hi? I checked the settings. One of the posts had comments turned off. Should work now.
